glide angle. The new three-legged structure formed by spun GRP tubes offers many advantages which have met with the approval of the German air traffic control administration. The first towers of this type have recently been erected in a minimum of time at Frankfurt's Rhein/Main Airport.

As the result of computer simulation, we have developed an optimized solution which, for instance, achieves the strength required with fewer cross-ties than other configurations.

Our GRP three-legged tower for glide-slope antennas is braced by cross-ties and can be constructed with a height of up to 20 meters.

The tower comes factory-assembled, the antennas and mountings being attached on site while the tower is still lying on the ground.

The tower foundation can be provided in the form of a prefabricated block foundation.
This eliminates the need for extensive shuttering and reinforcement work in an area where safety is a critical factor.

The tower is erected by means of tilting flanges on the plastic pylons. Precise adjustment is carried out after the flight tests with the tower upright.
This solution makes for extremely rapid erection with minimum interference to flight operations - a decisive asset when working on the airfield.
