Spiral, lateral and pre-stressing armouring strands are fitted
into one half of the mould It is then filled with the exact pre-determined
amount of concrete liquid required, before it is mated and locked
with the other half.
After the lateral strands have been tensioned the mould is spun
horizontally at approximately 500 rpm. The liquid concrete spreads
uniformly in the mould, is pressed onto the mould wall and is
thereby highly compressed. The centrifugal forces at play in the
mould compress the concrete at up to 20 times the force gravity,
achieving strengths up to 115N/mm2.
The special compression achieved by the spun concrete process
means that the pole reaches 80% of the final strength within approximately
twelve hours.
After removal from the mould the pre-tensioning strengths of
the strands in the concrete are introduced. Towers with diameters
over 2.4 m are produced using the vibration method with a concrete
quality of B55, and a maximum section length of 2.5 m In the future
towers will be produced up to 7 m in diameter and section length
up to 3.8 m.
These sections, cylindrical or conical, are then post-tensioned
while being mounted together on-site and thereby achieve excellent
stiffness at heights over 100 m.

The use of high-quality concrete, usually B95, together with
the spinning process ensures an absolutely smooth pore-free surface
and, at the same time, achieves a high degree of stiffness. This
enables an ultra-slim design while keeping deflection to a minimum,
even at high wind loads. Thus our spun-concrete towers are especially
suitable for radio antennae, where strong deflections can significantly
affect transmission quality.
The slender design and, where needed, the right colour give the
antenna tower an elegant and aesthetic appearance. Its smooth
surface has a calming effect and helps the tower fit unobtrusively
and harmoniously into any landscape, rural or urban. The surface
is as hard as a glass and prevents any moisture penetration, giving
corrosion nowhere to start and promising an exceptionally long
service life and low maintenance, keeping ownership cost to a
minimum.
An antenna tower consists of several prefabricated sections,
which are manufactured in our plant and mounted on-site in a few
hours to become an operational structure. All the provisions needed
for mounting antennae, ladders, cables ducts etc. are pre-installed
in each section and your telecommunication carrier system is operational
in the shortest possible time.
